Cuvee des Jacobins - Beer Review

Cuvee des Jacobins

This wonderful Belgium Rough Sour Ale is full-bodied and very delicious.  Anybody that enjoys sour beers will place this wonderful creation into the top 5 of sour beers, if not   number one, given that it is half the price of Russian River.  The intense flavors hit you right in the face, curling your tongue, only letting go after lingering there for a good 30 seconds.  If you like intense flavors, this is the beer for you.

Cuvee des Jacobins is a Flanders Red Sour Ale with pronounced sourness, offset by a cascade of beautiful complex flavors.  Spontaneous fermentation imbues Rough with hints of stone fruit, cocoa, apple and cherries. The oak barrel aging for a minimum of 18 months imparts a gentle vanilla note.

You can find this and many, many other delicious beers, wines and scotch at Wades Wine in Agoura Hills.  The staff is extremely knowledgeable and my favorite place to find the new and the known favorites.  If you have never been there you owe it to yourself to stop by and be amazed by the selection and friendly service.

Check out their selection on their website:
